Join Tatra Photography for the ultimate winter tour of Yosemite National Park in California. With soaring snow capped mountains, towering trees & frozen waterfalls, Yosemite national park is a haven for landscape photography. We will follow in the famous footsteps of Ansel Adams who immortalised Yosemite to capture the spectacular winter conditions in Yosemite valley.

This two centre photography tour starts with four nights in Yosemite and will include all the classic locations in Yosemite valley and some hidden gems. We will start the tour in the iconic Yosemite Valley with Valley View, Tunnel View, Cathedral beach, Swinging bridge and El Capitan.

The second part of the tour will be based in San Francisco for three nights to capture this famous city at sunrise, sunset & the blue hour. We will photograph the famous Golden Gate bridge and Cityscapes of San Francisco as well as some of the spectacular nearby coastal scenery.

All levels are catered for so whether you are new to photography, an enthusiast or a seasoned pro we provide a fun packed tour with a masterclass in landscape techniques from our professional photographer Mark Bauer.

As well as having extended and flexible time in the field, where we will work one-on-one with each guest to hone your landscape photography skills and how to use the camera to create wow-factor images.

Your tutor for 2019 workshop is Mark Bauer. Mark is one of the UK’s leading landscape photographers. He has been a full-time professional since 2003, and his images have been published in books, magazines and calendars around the world. Mark is represented by several leading image libraries, including the fine art library, Trevillion Images and he is regular contributor the UK photographic press, in particular Digital SLR, Digital Photographer, Photography for Beginners and Landscape Photography Magazine.

He is the author of three books, including The Landscape Photography Workshop (with Ross Hoddinott) and is currently working on a fourth. He is a multi-award winner, having had work Highly Commended and Commended in the ‘Take a View’ Landscape Photographer of the Year Competition and Highly Commended in The International Garden Photographer of the Year. In 2011, he was a category winner in the Outdoor Photographer of the Year Competition.

Mark’s work is characterised by dramatic compositions shot in atmospheric light, and he is an experienced tutor who is passionate about helping others to develop their vision.

Your tutor for 2020 workshop is Justin Minns. Justin is a professional landscape photographer, best known for his atmospheric images of East Anglia. His work is all about using the best light and conditions to capture the spirit of a location and he is regularly commissioned to produce these images for the National Trust.

Justin’s photography and articles have been widely published in books and magazines including Amateur Photographer, Outdoor Photography, PhotoPlus, Photo Technique and Practical Photography and he is currently working on his first book, a guide to photographing East Anglia.

His work has also been recognised in several competitions, notably five commendations in Landscape Photographer of the Year with his images having appeared on the cover of the prestigious awards book twice.

The landscape workshops with Tatra Photography are sponsored by Lee Filters and Robert White Camera Suppliers.

Lee Filters have kindly donated a landscape filter set including various grads, ND filters and the BIG 10 Stopper, Lee have also provided a range of holders and rings, all of which will be available to use to participants on the workshops and will be demonstrated by the Tatra photography award winning tutors.

Any customers wanting to purchase their products can then buy from Robert White cameras or direct from Lee filters.



Yosemite View Lodge offers spacious rooms, an outdoor amphitheater and a seasonal outdoor pool. Traditional rooms include a desk and a TV. The Mountain Room Restaurant is a full-service restaurant open for dinner at the Yosemite View Lodge. It serves steaks, fresh seafood and pastas. The Mountain Lounge provides a mountain-themed atmosphere, as well as cocktails and snacks. Guests can catch a game on one of the many TVs or relax on the patio which offers views of the Swedish-style fireplace.

SanfranhotelHotel Fisherman’s Wharf is located to the heart of San Francisco’s most famous areas and attractions including the popular Chinatown and North Beach. This hotel features modern décor with en-suite facilities and free wifi.
