The Tatra Mountains Slovakia has everything a photographer could wish for, unique culture, historical architecture, friendly people & of course spectacular landscapes. Tatra photography have carefully handpicked the very best locations in the Tatra Mountains national park for you to enjoy providing you with one of the best photography holidays in Europe. We have thoroughly researched where the sun rises & sun sets to take you too locations at the right time of day. The only thing left for you is to take as many outstanding photographs as possible.
During the 4 days of your photography workshop in the Tatra mountains we will take you to locations of breathtaking beauty for you to photograph which will include the Tatra mountain valleys, emerald lakes & giant mountain waterfalls. You will also receive a masterclass in photography landscape tuition from our professional photographer which includes, composition, shutter speeds, apertures & understanding histograms. All levels are catered for with digital & film so whether you are new to photography, an enthusiast or a seasoned pro looking for a new photography holiday The Tatra Mountains Slovakia is an oasis of breathtaking scenery which makes this national park a photography paradise.
Unique to the Tatra Workshops
On this Tatra weekend workshop we will have one overnight stay in a remote Tatra mountain cottage. We will walk (3 hours to location) to a remote mountain cottage located in one of the valleys of the Tatra national park. This location is surrounded by the beautiful mountain valleys, rugged Tatra peaks and three lake locations perfect for reflections and sunrise shots. The mountain saddle will provide us with plenty of sunset opportunities.
Your tutors for these workshops are Mark Bauer & Lee Pengelly.
Mark Bauer is one of the UK’s leading landscape photographers. He has been a full-time professional since 2003, and his images have been published in books, magazines and calendars around the world. Mark is represented by several leading image libraries, including the fine art library, Trevillion Images and he is regular contributor the UK photographic press, in particular Digital SLR, Digital Photographer, Photography for Beginners and Landscape Photography Magazine.
He is the author of three books, including The Landscape Photography Workshop (with Ross Hoddinott) and is currently working on a fourth. He is a multi-award winner, having had work Highly Commended and Commended in the ‘Take a View’ Landscape Photographer of the Year Competition and Highly Commended in The International Garden Photographer of the Year. In 2011, he was a category winner in the Outdoor Photographer of the Year Competition.
Mark’s work is characterised by dramatic compositions shot in atmospheric light, and he is an experienced tutor who is passionate about helping others to develop their vision.
Lee is a professional photographer specialising in landscape & nature photography. Lee started taking pictures in 1996, after a college course and Bureau of Freelance Photographers study course. Between 1996 and 2000 he honed his skills and built up a range of clients for his work. By late 2000 he had given up the day job and turned pro.
His clients include the Landmark Trust, B&Q, Ordnance Survey, Daily Mail, Kodak, National Trust, Outdoor Photography, Practical Photography, The National Grid and the Britannia Group.
Lee’s work is also represented by Corbis, Alamy, Britain On View,(Photolibrary), Loop Images and Imageclick picture agencies and sold worldwide in books, newspapers, magazines, calendars, cards and travel guides.
In 2007 Lee began running photography lectures for clubs and societies, focusing on photographic technique and his style of photography. He is an experienced course leader, running UK and overseas workshops.

The landscape workshops with Tatra Photography are sponsored by Lee Filters and Robert White Camera Suppliers. Lee Filters have kindly donated a landscape filter set including various grads, ND filters and the BIG 10 Stopper, Lee have also provided a range of holders and rings, all of which will be available to use to participants on the workshops and will be demonstrated by the Tatra photography award winning tutors. Any customers wanting to purchase their products can then buy from Robert White cameras or direct from Lee filters.

Accommodation
Pension Biela Voda has a prime position in Velka Lomnica the gateway to the Tatra mountains- East Europe’s only alpine mountain range. Pension Biela Voda offers accommodation in spacious double rooms or apartments with en-suite facilities. There is wi-fi throughout the whole pension free of charge. The Pension also has a nice terrace for those who wish to relax after a day in the mountains and an outdoor BBQ sitting area for nice warm summer evenings.
