The Land of the Midnight Sun - Lofoten Islands archipelago offers you breathtaking and unforgettable scenery above the Arctic Circle, this group of small islands rise majestically from the sea with alpine mountain peaks soaring to over 1000 meters. The mountains, sweeping fjords, white sandy beaches and tiny fishing settlements make the Lofoten Islands a photographers dream.

The midnight sun is a natural phenomenon occurring in summer months between the spring equinox and the autumnal equinox north of the Arctic Circle. During these special hours which produces incredible colour and light that lasts for hours we will visit locations of coastal beaches, fjords. Lakes, mountains and fishing villages backed up with the incredible mixture of colours in the sky as the sun dips to the horizon.

We will photograph the midnight sun during two evenings and for three evenings we will catch the sun as it dips below the horizon. Tatra photography provide photographic tuition with British professional photographer Lee Pengelly, during the workshop you will be able to learn all the different techniques to photograph the lakes & mountains of Lofoten and come home with some outstanding images. Over the 6 days you can expect a packed workshop of great photography, great company and great food in the beautiful surroundings of the Land of the midnight sun - Lofoten Islands Norway.


The landscape workshops with Tatra Photography are sponsored by Lee Filters and Robert White Camera Suppliers.

Lee Filters have kindly donated a landscape filter set including various grads, ND filters and the BIG 10 Stopper, Lee have also provided a range of holders and rings, all of which will be available to use to participants on the workshops and will be demonstrated by the Tatra photography award winning tutors.

Any customers wanting to purchase their products can then buy from Robert White cameras or direct from Lee filters.


Accommodation Henningsvær Bryggehotel

This intimate 3 star waterfront hotel is located on the Lofoten island of Heimøya, the fishing village of Henningsvær. It offers spacious comfortable rooms at a very good standard with regional gourmet cuisine and free Wi-Fi. All rooms have a flat-screen TV.
Each of Henningsvær Bryggehotel’s spacious guest rooms features a private bathroom with shower.
The Bryggehotel’s harbour-view restaurant offers Arctic specialities based on organic, locally sourced ingredients.

All rooms provided for this workshop are single with en-suite facilities, we have included breakfast only rather than half board for this workshop as not everybody likes 3 courses for their evening meal, there is an excellent restaurant at the hotel so you have the choice of half board set menu or choose from the A la carte menu.
