The Land of Fire and Ice / North Iceland

Location: North Iceland

Duration: 5 nights / 6 days

Group Size: Max 10

Level of fitness required: Easy

Iceland – The Land of Fire and Ice – is a landscape photographer’s paradise. From mighty cascading waterfalls and spouting geysers to colossal glaciers, magnificent coastlines, majestic mountains and hot volcanoes. And, of course, there is the awe-inspiring natural phenomenon of Aurora Borealis – the Northern Lights – enhanced by 2012’s Solar Maximus.

On this North Iceland Photography Landscape Masterclass we will take you to the very best photography locations North Iceland has to offer, hand-picked by our professional photographic guides we will visit the rugged coastline of the North Island with the iconic waterfalls of Godafoss & Dettifoss, Kirkjufell mountain at the Snaefellsnes peninsula and the rock stacks at Hvitserkur. With a little bit of luck we could also get the opportunity to capture the elusive Northern Lights.

For this Iceland photography workshop we have purposely avoided the very busy tourist season in Iceland of June, July & August, there is no point in taking you to the amazing photography locations Iceland has to offer if there are coach loads of people stood where you want to be shooting! September is quiet and we will capture sunrise & sunsets with also the possibility of the Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis.

As well as having extended and flexible time in the field, where we will work one-on-one with each guest to hone your landscape photography skills, we will also provide demonstrations of advanced landscape photography techniques, such as High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDRI) and night photography.
We also encourage participants to bring a selection of their work for a review and critique, where our professional tutor will discuss the art of landscape photography composition, how to use the camera to create wow-factor images and how to approach landscape photography with the eye of a pro.
