Q: Why book a Tatra Photography workshop
A: Tatra Photography tours are for anyone interested in photography, we cater for all levels, so whether you are new to photography with only a small digital camera or a smartphone, an enthusiast or a seasoned pro looking for a new adventure, our tours will take you to all the spectacular locations in our portfolio at the right time of day to ensure you return home with images you’ll be proud of.
Q: I’m only a beginner and new to photography
A: All levels are catered for on our Tatra photography tours and workshops which include a masterclass from our professional photographers. While on location you will receive dedicated one-to-one tuition to help hone your landscape photography skills. Our professionals will offer guidance on both the technical and creative aspects of landscape photography and always be at hand to provide feedback on your photographs.
Q: What flights should I book ?
A: We have teamed up with Travel Counsellors who will be able to assist in any flight travel arrangements you may require and make sure you meet up with the tour at the times advised. Flight options are available from all UK & international airports, Travel Counsellors can also arrange any preferred seating, speedy boarding, luggage upgrade or VIP lounge access. Q: What level of fitness is required ?
A: Our photography holidays in general only require a basic level of fitness. We will only ever choose locations that are within the whole groups ability. Some tours do include short walks of between 10 minutes and 1 hour on an easy walking level. We provide a full kit list and destination guide with each workshop so you will have full details of the requirements for each tour.
Q: What about single rooming ?
A: We understand the value of privacy and not having to wonder about the person snoring next to you, the days are long during our photography tours, we provide single occupancy rooms on all our tours with no single supplement. Each participant will have a en-suite double room to themselves for complete privacy.
Q: What should I bring with me to one of your workshops ?
A: Any level of camera is suitable for our photography tours, it really doesn’t matter if you have an iPhone or medium format camera. At the time of booking you will receive a full kit list and destination guide for each tour with recommendations on the lenses required.
Q: Do you provide transportation ?
A: All transportation is provided from the moment we meet the group at the destination airport to the completion of the workshop. We own our own minibus and use this vehicle throughout all the European tours, for the tours outside of Europe we generally book 12-15 seater minibus for 7 clients so we have plenty of space for camera bags and tripods.
Q: Do you offer any equipment for rental ?
A: We don’t provide any camera equipment for rental, we have teamed up with Lenses for Hire based in the UK, We all know at Tatra Photography that some lenses are expensive and we can’t all have a kit bag full of professional glass. You can now hire the lens on your wish list for our amazing trips. We provide a special code once you are booked onto a tour which will create the exclusive Tatra Photography discount, so you can now visit the amazing locations Tatra photography arrange with the lens of your dreams!
Q: What happens in bad weather ?
A: We stay out and sit out the storm, in our experience the worst weather brings the best conditions for photography, we will generally find a coffee shop to take a break with bad weather and wait until It clears. If its pouring down with no chance to actually take images without having to wipe your camera lens every 5 seconds we will cancel the shoot and our professional tutor will sit down with the group and provide feedback sessions, processing techniques or a composition tutorial.
Q: Can you cater for special dietary requirements ?
A: We do cater for all dietary requirements, please advise any requirements you have on the booking form.
Q: Do the tour leaders take photos themselves ?
A: Our tutors do take images during the tour, they do make sure everyone on the tour is happy shooting and doesn’t require any assistance before they take their camera out. Our tutors whilst shooting will show you different compositions, techniques with filtration and exposure.
Q: What about Travel Medical, Evacuation, and Trip Insurance ?
A: Travel insurance is mandatory for all clients while on one of our tours. You are responsible for ensuring that you are in possession of travel insurance for the entire duration of the tour in respect of medical expenses, injury, death, repatriation, cancellation and curtailment, You must ensure that there are no exclusion clauses which limit cover for the type of activities included in your tour.
Q: What are your payment options ?
A: We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards, If you need special payment arrangements or want to work out a payment schedule, no problem please ask at the time of booking.
We request a 25% deposit at the time of booking with the balance due 12 weeks prior to departure.
All payments are secure through Stripe, Stripe is certified to the highest industry standards and has obtained regulatory licenses around the world.
