Join Tatra Photography for the ultimate tour of Yosemite national park in California. With soaring mountains, towering trees, crystal-clear waterfalls, grand meadows in vast wilderness areas, Yosemite national park is a haven for landscape photography. We will follow in the famous footsteps of Ansel Adams who immortalised Yosemite to capture the spectacular Autumn colours.

Autumn in Yosemite is Golden, in addition to the park’s astounding evergreens, Yosemite national park also boasts a plethora of deciduous trees, shrubs, and vines throughout the park that become nature’s fireworks during the Autumn months. The Yosemite autumn colours of yellow leaves on the big leaf maples, brown and gold on the black oaks, red, pink, and yellow leaves on the dogwoods, brilliant yellow on the black cottonwoods, and reds, golds, and yellows on shrubs and smaller plants and we’ll see the brilliant red hues of sugar maple trees.

This two centre photography tour of Yosemite will include all the classic locations with some hidden gems courtesy of our local photographic guide. We will start the tour with the iconic Yosemite Valley with Valley View, Tunnel View and Glacier Point, Mono Lake, Nevada Falls, Maripopsa Sequoia Grove Trail, Tioga Pass, Olmstead Point & Alabama Hills

All levels are catered for so whether you are new to photography, an enthusiast or a seasoned pro we provide a fun packed tour with a masterclass in landscape techniques from our professional photographer Adam Burton.

As well as having extended and flexible time in the field, where we will work one-on-one with each guest to hone your landscape photography skills, we will also provide demonstrations of advanced landscape photography techniques on how to use the camera to create wow-factor images and how to approach landscape photography with the eye of a pro. We also encourage participants to bring a selection of their work for a review and critique.


The landscape workshops with Tatra Photography are sponsored by Lee Filters and Robert White Camera Suppliers.

Lee Filters have kindly donated a landscape filter set including various grads, ND filters and the BIG 10 Stopper, Lee have also provided a range of holders and rings, all of which will be available to use to participants on the workshops and will be demonstrated by the Tatra photography award winning tutors.

Any customers wanting to purchase their products can then buy from Robert White cameras or direct from Lee filters.


Accommodation

We will spend the first 4 nights at Mammoth Lakes Lodge which is located at 9,000-feet on Mammoth Mountain which is steps from the Main Lodge and offers spectacular views across the mountain range.
The hotels location is close to many of the locations we will visit around Mono Lake, June Lake & Rainbow Falls
All guest accommodation at the Mammoth Lakes Lodge is equipped with en-suite facilities, satellite TV and a DVD player.
Guests can swim in the heated outdoor pool or relax in the Jacuzzi.
We will dine at the Mountainside Grill which serves Californian-styled dishes. Drinks are available at the Dry Creek Bar and Yodler bar.

 

For the rest of the tour we will stay in The Yosemite Lodge which is the most modern lodging facility located just a mere 12 miles from entrance to Yosemite National Park and a short 35 mile jaunt down to the Valley Floor and the many popular features of Yosemite. The hotel boasts 45 luxuriously appointed and newly remodelled and extremely spacious rooms. Most of our rooms have two queen size beds, making them ideal for families or groups. The Yosemite Westgate Lodge is a 100% Non-Smoking facility.The Lodge restaurant located right next door offers great American dining throughout the year. With a full menu of good old hearty home cooked meals from eggs and pancakes in the morning to steak for dinner, its a great place to start your day before we tour The Park.
