Wild Brown bears (Ursus arctos) are the focus of our 4-day wildlife photography adventure from the comfort and safety of specially designed photography Brown Bear hides built by Tatra Photography in the natural setting of the Carpathian mountains, Slovakia.
Tatra photography have exclusive use of hides specially located in the national park to photograph Wild Brown Bears in their natural environment, each day we will spend around 4 hours in the early mornings and 5 hours for late evening session’s in each hide. Each photographer will get the chance of a sunrise & sunset session from each hide. Wolves, Lynx,Red Deer, Roe Deer, Wild Boar, Badger, Raptors & Woodpeckers will provide us with other photographic opportunities.
During the day we will catch up on some rest and our professional photography tutor will provide tutorial and feed back sessions.
With an inclusive package, which includes flight, transfers and accommodation, we’ve come up with a unique workshop that will ensure you capture once-in-a-lifetime images of some of Europe’s most endangered and enigmatic species.
Over the course of four days in the field, we will enjoy numerous opportunities to capture spectacular images of Europe’s top predator and endangered wildlife in natural forest settings. And, with the help of top wildlife pro Ben Hall, we’ll ensure you return home with images you’ll be proud of.

Tatra Photography Hides
Our hides have been built and designed by Tatra Photography and our award winning wildlife tutors, the hides have been designed and specifically placed in the locations so you can get a ground level perspective with eye level shots. We have 3 hides in different locations so you will have side lighting, back lightning and front lighting shots.
The hides are spacious with seats for 3 people. The seats are fully adjustable for extra leg room and reclining. The seats are also height adjustable so you can change the viewing angle from your camera viewfinder to the viewing window without any obstruction and still be in complete comfort. The hides also have a toilet with privacy curtain.
Your tutor for this workshop is Ben Hall. Ben is one of Britain’s foremost wildlife photographers. His personal approach to nature photography lies in the creative art of ‘seeing’. His aim is to use his pictures to communicate his personal vision, to generate an emotional response and to excite the viewer’s aesthetic sensitivity. He is described by “Living Edge” magazine as ‘a passionate and experienced wildlife photographer, with a perfectionist’s eye for detail’. Ben’s work is represented by Getty images, RSPB Images and Naturepl and is sold worldwide.
Ben specialises in bird and mammal photography and has won numerous international awards including category wins in the British Wildlife Photography Awards and the Windland Smith Rice International Awards. In 2009 he was named ‘Geographical’ Photographer of the Year. He is a regular contributor to clients as diverse as BBC Wildlife, PhotoPlus magazine, Digital SLR User, Photography Monthly and many more. He has appeared on numerous radio and television programmes including BBC’s Walk on The Wild Side and is a member of the 2020VISION photo team. Ben has just finished writing his first book, Wildlife Photography Workshop, which he co-authored with Ross Hoddinott.
